HOW IT'S MADE?
Cellulose
Cellulose
Cellulose is the main component of plant cell walls and the most abundant organic compound in the world. The very material that gives plants their strength forms the basis of our biodegradable glitter. We use only cellulose sourced from sustainable eucalyptus plantations in Europe and process it into a smooth, transparent material.
MINERALS
For the various luminous colors of our BioGlitter, we use earths and semi-precious stones from selected sources in North America, process them into powder, and mix them with resin before applying them to the cellulose film.
NATURAL RESIN
To avoid using synthetic adhesives, we use shellac - a
natural resin obtained from the secretions of scale insects. In nature, shellac serves to protect the offspring of lac insects. With our glitter, however, you can be sure that the resin is only harvested after the baby insects have hatched, so no insects are harmed.
